LUCIANO Meets ANTONIO - A Tribute to Napoli

Napoli, January 19, 2005. I have produced a CD with 11 of my poems recited by ANTONIO MENCARINI, a Neapolitan actor who lives in Brugherio (Milano). The idea was born several months ago when Mencarini put some of my Neapolitan poems on his site and recited them and he then thought to pay me tribute with a CD.

Naturally, I immediately thought that it would be a magnificent idea to produce a CD and make it available to all those whose who live here in Napoli, the other parts of Italy and the rest of the world whose passion is Neapolitan poetry.

Many have difficulty reading our language and in this way they would have the opportunity to listen and eventually better appreciate the poetry which Mencarini chose for the CD.

The themes of the poems speak of Napoli; a dog who punctually waits but to no avail; a deserted beach; a missing fisherman; Christmas, and other stories.

Just published: L'ALBA DI DOMANI (TOMORROW'S SUNRISE) , by LUCIANO SOMMA. The book contains 30 poems in Italian all of which have been translated into English with an accompanying CD which contains all 30 poems receited .
